This cleaner is the best boat vinyl mildew remover we have found in over 20 years of boating – before & after cleaning demo!

Like most boaters, we have been struggling for years with mildew on our boat vinyl. With a boat, its inevitable you’ll get some mildew on your boat – especially after its been wrapped up for winter storage. Even with full canvas or a boat cover mildew can be a problem.

Over the years we have tried almost everything. There are many products on the market that just don’t seem to make the mildew go away, especially if its deep into the vinyl. Some cleaners require multiple applications, and you have to be very careful not to destroy the vinyl or stitching.

Magic erasers, for example, can be very harsh on the vinyl and actually wear it down. They can be good for small marks, but don’t seem to work that well on mildew that may cover an entire boat seat.

We were recommended this cleaning product called Marine 31 Mildew Remover Gel and it worked wonders on our boat! We have a 2002 41 Sea Ray Sundancer that had a lot of mildew on the boat seats. In just a few minutes the mildew remover was able to make our 19 year old boat vinyl look almost new! Watch the cleaning demo video below…

How it Works

We bought the Marine 31 Mildew Remover Gel Kit and it comes with the remover gel in a spray, a special remover brush and microfiber cloth. The brush is designed to work the gel into the vinyl and has a nice shape for getting into the edges. It does include bleach so you should avoid the vinyl stitching.
